Week 1 in Topeka

Hello Family and Friends!

I hope you all have a wonderful Fourth of July celebrating the blessing of freedom we have!

So I arrived here in Topeka on Wednesday and I'm still trying to get my footing. I thought it was going to be like Wichita, but it's not... At all.

Since being here we have worked with two part member families: We have been working with two unbaptized minors, Jose and Jessica. They are children of a recent convert. They usually live in Tennessee, but they are visiting their dad in Topeka for a few months and they want to be baptized! They came to church on Sunday!

We are also working with Maricela a daughter of a less active. Elder Rojas and his previous companion found the less active member, Alejandra, whose records aren't here. She hasn't been to church since she was 16, and she's an adult now and recently moved here from Mexico. She really wants to return to church and recognizes that her life had more joy when she was going to church. She testified of those blessings to Maricela, her daughter. Maricela has been working Sundays, but is supposed to be getting them off starting this week.

It was a good week and I look forward to what else is in store here in Topeka.

Con mucho amor,

Élder Connor Waldrón
