General Conference Weekend

Dear Family and Friends,

Ah! What a great week! Conference is always a joy especially when you have investigators attend and they love it!

This week (I don't know whether to say I or we since I kind of don't have a companion right now) I/we had two investigators attend general conference.

One of them was Martin. Martin is an investigator who lives in little Mexico of Great Bend. He has investigated the church before and has been to church before. He came to the priesthood session and loved it!

We had a barbecue before and it was so good to see the other brothers fellowship him so well. Martin doesn't speak a lot of English but the language of the heart (Love and the spirit) was able to be understood. One of the brothers that he met when he had come to church before he was with like the whole time and Martin was hugging him and it was great fun.

April came to two of the sessions of conference. Oh wow I don't even know where to begin with April. She progressed so much this week. We had contact with her everyday (either through text or in person). We taught her a lot of different things. We talked about everything from temples to Joseph Smith to the this tony of the relief society. She is a very spiritual lady and has lots of questions, impressions, and interests. We had a church tour with her on Wednesday evening. Since many of the members were there for the youth activities she was able to meet a lot of the members. The coolest thing from the church tour is that when we were standing in front of the font with her she talked about how the main message she was getting out of the Book of Mormon and Bible was to not procrastinate being baptized! That was so awesome. I've definitely felt prepared to teach her as she has had lots of questions pertaining to family history and the temple and ordinances done for the deceased. She was able to come to two sessions of the general conference (Saturday Afternoon and Sunday Afternoon (she was going to come to Sunday Morning as well, but she said she was parked in some parking lot somewhere (to escape her home) studying The Testimony of the Prophet Joseph Smith pamphlet and lost track of time :D). Before the Sunday afternoon session we were able to help her start doing a little research on family search.org. We saw her last night as well and talked about Lehi's vision of the tree of life and how it applies to each of us. I testified to her that she might get some flak from others for 'becoming Mormon' but truly this is the church of Jesus Christ, the literal Kingdom of God on the earth and that we are building Zion.

I hope that you all were able to get inspired messages from conference. The messages that you needed. I know there was a lot of good stuff for me and once the talks are downloaded onto gospel library I'll be able to standardize my notes and share some of my favorite quotes.

Love you all and have a great week!

Love, Élder Connor Waldrón I liked this picture from President Uchtdorf's talk.
