Exceptional

Hello family and friends I hope that you all had a wonderful week and felt the love of others and especially of our Heavenly Father and the Savior, Jesus Christ, this weekend. We had a really exceptional week! This week we had the opportunity to be instructed by Elder Evans of the First Quorum of the Seventy. His focus in teaching us was on the importance of repentance. It truly impressed me that our investigators need to deeply understand repentance before baptism as well and truly repent before baptism. If they do that they have a better chance of being baptized a true convert to Jesus Christ. Some of the things that Elder Evans said truly impressed me. He shared that our sins is what keep us from knowing God. As we give away all of our sins (even our favorite sins) we can come to know God, and when we know God we truly are freed. He also said something that was quite pressing, which is, that we will ultimately be faced with the choice to repent or to abandon the gospel. This week we met an awesome investigator named Nora. We were driving down the street and I saw her on the porch. I thought, "We should talk to that girl." So I voiced my thought to Elder Hosenfeld and we parked around the block and went and talked to her. She was on the phone when we walked up but she paused her call so that she could talk to us. She recently moved to Great Bend from Fort Worth, Texas. She's looking for a church here to attend in Great Bend. It's really cool because she answers all of our text messages every time we text her which I don't think I've had an investigator that's ever done that. She came to see a baptismal service a few days after we met her and then she said that we would see her at church on Sunday. The only bad part of the story is that she had to leave town back to Fort Worth and wasn't able to attend church. She also doesn't know how long she'll be gone so hopefully it won't be too long. Sunday was still neat though. We had a less active at church that we've been working with. We weren't able to see her throughout the week because of Elder Evans coming, but she came with her grandma anyway. We found out that we're going to be in a trio with one of the English Elders for two weeks. The other English Elder has to go replace someone in Wichita so the English Elder staying here won't be able to get a new companion until transfers in two weeks. Thanks for all your love and support, Les quiero,

Élder Connor Waldrón
