Well this has been an interesting week... The beginning of this week said goodbye to everyone in Wichita. It's always such a tender mercy to say goodbye and people tell you really nice things you. In every area so far there's already somebody who surprises me with what they tell me. Wednesday arrived in Lawrence. Here's a small recap of what happened. Really enjoyed it, we had to turn the area around a little bit and Elder Boyer was really excited to get some work done. Met some Spanish recent converts and put their nonmember brother on date. Found a lost sheep who loves Joseph Smith. Had amazing lesson with unbaptized 12 year old whose mom is a member. Got to know some of the youth, and they were awesome. Finished unpacking Friday. Sunday morning getting ready for church and get a call from the assistants. They tell us that our companionship was involved in an ET (emergency transfer). Then they tell me I'm going to Great Bend. So at church say hi and goodbye to all the members, and repack everything Sunday night. Now I'm in the Great Bend church. Whatever, I'm still excited for whatever happens. I know good things will happen. Though I haven't found the personal lesson for me in this yet I know I'll figure out one day. On the bright side I'm still a Spanish missionary in a 'Spanish area'. I hope you're all excited for Christmas this year. For some reason I've really been impressed, thinking upon what I can give the Savior for Christmas this year. What gift does the Savior want from me? Does he want me to go the extra mile more often? Write a lonely or struggling friend? Give up a little of my pride and let go of a carefully guarded resentment? Love more? There's so many gifts the Savior would be pleased to receive, but which would mean the most from me? In the two videos out by the church this year about Christmas (A Savior is Born and Why do we need a Savior?) there is a near identical phrase. It talks about the healing, strengthening, and change the Savior can do in our lives "if we love him, remember him, follow him, rejoice greatly in him." What better gift to give? Isn't that the only gift he asks of us? And if we do that, the rest will fall into place. I love you all and hope the true spirit of Christmas is 'born' in all of you!
