February

Wow I can't believe that it is February already. The month of January seemed to fly by. In just two more weeks we will have transfers again. That is crazy it feels like we just barely went through transfers. I hope you all had a good month of January.

How was the superbowl? I didn't know it was even happening until like Saturday. Then Sunday night everybody was watching it) Luckily we caught someone during the halftime show and it didn't seem like he was enjoying Katy Perry very much (not his generation). We had a great lesson with him. We read out of the Book of Mormon (3 Nephi 11) and invited him for baptism. At first he said he was already baptized, but then we talked about how Christ was baptized and how in 3 Nephi 11 it says how we should be baptized. He realized and admitted (almost) that his Catholic sprinkling baptism was incomplete. He was a referral and this was only our second lesson with him. Our zone has the goal to baptize someone February and I feel like him and his family (the Ramerez family) will be the ones to baptized.

We also have Eliseo who will get baptized in February. He lives with the family I ate with at Thanksgiving. He is a work friend of them and moved into their spare bedroom. (we actually met him for the first time at Thanksgiving). He is going to get baptized, he wants to get baptized so badly, which is really cool. He only needs to come to church one more time and he can get baptized, but it's super hard because he works at Seaboard (pork meat plant, where basically everybody in Guymon works at). We works at the pig sheds and he keeps getting called in to work on Sundays. He was going to be able to come to church this Sunday but then his friend that he lives with (Gerdardo) broke his foot at work on Saturdayand Eliseo had to go in for him on Sunday. Arrgh! Satan is working on him hard because he knows he will be a great member.

Also! Our little Guymon Branch Presidency got reorganized this week. It was really good meeting. The new president is Brother Rasmussen and his counselor is Elder Shurtleff (the senior missionary in the area). It was a really good meeting. Presidente Duffy (the previous Branch President) had been the Branch President for 20 years! Wow! he needs a break for a little bit (only a little bit :) ). Brother Rasmussen talked about how our Branch needed to rescue the other members so that he knew all the members on the Branch roster (He has only lived here for like 8 months) and how our Branch needed consistency. And his goal was to need a building enlargement while he was Branch President. I was like YES! YES! YES! We had a really good week and I know the Lord will bless us even more next week.

Hope you all are doing well!

Love,

Elder Waldron
